Labuan Bajo hotels, grouped by area, and how the Vinca pickup works

We collect you free of charge at 09:30 from your hotel or the airport in Labuan Bajo and take you to the harbour. Tell the desk which hotel you're in when you book, then confirm it the day before you sail, along with the name the reservation is under. Pickup to pillow within the morning is our promise.

Book a room for the night before you sail. The supplier advises arriving a day early, because flights into Labuan Bajo are cancelled or delayed often enough to make a same-morning arrival a gamble. On the last day the boat docks between 11:00 and 12:00, so a hotel for the night after is optional, though handy if your flight leaves late.

Most guests reach us with three open questions: which flight, which hotel, which boat. Hand all three to the desk. We are a partner agency of all thirty hotels below and sell their rooms directly, at a rate the hotel confirms for your dates. That rate is lower than the booking apps for the same room, because we add no platform fee, and we fit the hotel night to your sailing day so the 09:30 pickup is a short drive, not a dash.

On flights we do not sell tickets, but we will tell you which routing works for your dates. Labuan Bajo's airport (LBJ) is served from Bali (about an hour and a quarter), Surabaya (about an hour and a half), Jakarta (two and a half to three hours) and Lombok (about an hour), by Garuda, Batik, Citilink, AirAsia, Super Air Jet and Wings. Two rules carry most of the risk: arrive the day before you sail, and book the flight home for after 14:00 on the last day, because the boat docks between 11:00 and 12:00.

Send the desk your city, your dates and your budget for the hotel, and you get back one plan: the flight pairing that fits, two or three rooms to choose from with confirmed prices, the pickup time and the boat. One WhatsApp thread holds all of it, and the same person answers before, during and after the trip.

The night before sailing is a logistics night. Pick something close to the harbour or the airport, sleep well, and let the driver find you in the lobby at 09:30. Marina and the town hotels do this best; the resort coast at Waecicu and Wae Rana is twenty minutes further but gives you a beach and a pool.

The night after the trip is a different purchase. The boat docks before noon, so a resort with a pool, a sea view and a late lunch is where the money shows. If your flight leaves the same afternoon, skip the second night and ask us for a day-use shower at a hotel near the airport instead.

Families and groups: tell us the ages and the number of rooms, and we check connecting rooms and extra beds with the hotel before we quote. Honeymoons: say so, because several properties add a room set-up at no charge when the booking comes through an agency partner like us.

Pede Beach is the strip of beachfront hotels along Jalan Pantai Pede, around four to five kilometres from the harbour, or eight to twelve minutes by car. It sits halfway between town and the resort coast, and it's where you'll find the cheapest price band on the list.

Sudamala Resort Komodo is a beachfront resort with pool villas, an infinity pool and a spa. Map Puri Sari Beach Hotel is a small beachfront hotel on Jalan Pantai Pede that opened in 2008. Most of these sit in the middle price band; Sudamala is the exception, priced closer to the resorts. Pede is a good choice if you'd like a sea view from the breakfast table and can do without a spa.

The bigger resorts are along the Waecicu coast, 10 to 20 minutes' drive from the harbour.

AYANA Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach is a beachfront resort with a private jetty, two outdoor pools and a spa, about 15 minutes away. Ta'aktana, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa at Wae Rana is the newest on the list, having opened in June 2024, and some of its villas stand over the water. It's about 18 minutes away. Map

That is what makes this page a one-stop plan rather than a list of links. The room, the pickup and the boat come from one desk, on one confirmation, with one person responsible for all three.

The booking-site rate under each hotel is the public price the big booking apps were showing when we checked, and it moves with the season: higher in July, August and over Christmas and New Year, lower in the quiet months. Our rate moves with it, under one fixed rule: for the same room and the same dates it is lower than the booking apps, because we charge no platform fee. Ask the desk for the rate on your dates and you get the figure in writing, confirmed by the hotel.

Star ratings appear only where a hotel is officially rated five-star. Drive times to the harbour are averages for the morning run. Be in the lobby with your bags before 09:30 and the driver does the rest. If you would rather we chose the hotel for you, say so in the same message as your sailing date.
